A scheme providing support to deafblind people run by Deafness Support Network has been highlighted as an example of good practice by Sense, the leading national charity. The service, provided by DSN on behalf of Salford City Council, was identified in a survey of local authority services to deafblind adults, carried out by Sense.

DSN has won funding to run a range of events and activities for Deaf children and young people. Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester Councils recently invited organisations to bid for funding for Short Breaks for children under the ‘Aiming High for Disabled Children’ programme. We were delighted to receive the news that DSN’s bids were successful!

An organisation called Deaf Smile Lottery, are targeting the Deaf Community via Facebook and MSN.

The month of April has marked a milestone for kmcreative as the Chester based graphic design agency celebrates 20 years in business by announcing the winner of its birthday prize draw.

A weekend of outdoor adventure in Northern Ireland is on the menu this Easter holiday for a group of deaf and hearing young people from Cheshire, Liverpool and St Helens.

Following on from the success of the ‘Children of Deaf Adults (CODA) 999 Day’ held last year, the decision to hold another similar event in 2010 was not a hard one to make.

A pilot scheme run by Deafness Support Network supporting Deaf and Deafblind people in Salford has been so successful that it has been extended for another six months.
