The READY study [Recording Emerging Adulthood in Deaf Youth – {] will follow young deaf people on an annual basis for 5 years. The study aims find out more about:

•             What kinds of decisions deaf young people make.

•             What barriers they face.

•             What they do after leaving school or college.

•             Which services they find useful.

•             How happy they are and what could improve their happiness.

Results from this study will be used to:

•             Influence government policies.

•             Help education, health and other services plan to meet young deaf people’s needs better.

•             Be a source of information about young deaf people for deaf young people (and their families).

 We are sharing this fantastic opportunity on behalf of the University of Manchester and the University of Edinburgh. They are ideally looking for young deaf people aged 15 – 18 (right up till your 19th birthday!) to join the study.
