DSN is the service provider organisation for D/deaf* people in the county of Cheshire and the surrounding areas. These services are delivered under contract for Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, and Flintshire Councils. We work with other professional organisations and partners across our area, providing resources, services & advice to help them better support people with sensory loss.

Our post-doctoral researcher, Jenna, is investigating how we can best recognise, manage and support hearing and vision impairment for people with dementia.

  • Interpreters for BSL/English and D/deafblind
  • Note-takers
  • Professional lip-speakers
  • Speech-to-text operators

All of our Interpreters are registered with The National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD).

All of our training staff are experts in their subject and crucially, also have personal experiences of D/deafness in all its forms. The D/deaf community has a rich culture and history and our trainers reflect this.
