Training Services

Our courses* are interactive, informative, enjoyable and designed to improve access, promote inclusivity and enhance communication. They can be delivered face-to-face or online, or through a series of on-demand webinars.

All of our training staff are experts in their subject and crucially, also have personal experiences of sensory loss in all its forms.

Training is suitable for everyone and can include:

Bespoke Deaf Awareness courses
British Sign Language courses (Introductions and Levels 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 and offer a recognised qualification from the awarding body Signature)
Lipreading and communication tactics

*Our courses are chargeable but any profits made will be donated back into DSN to provide services for people with sensory loss.

Incus is the training arm of DSN. We are a Signature approved centre, meaning all qualifications are regulated by Ofqual and ensure the quality of learning demonstrated will meet the requirements of the UK Occupational Language Standards for each British Sign Language level. We offer a range of deaf and sensory awareness courses including specialize in bespoke training packages designed around your organizational needs and also proud to offer consultancy services, specifically tailored to meet your needs. Our courses are delivered face-to-face at one of our training centres or a local venue and via online learning.

Incus in Care is a researched lead accreditation program that enables commissioners and care providers across various settings to demonstrate, measure and celebrate their commitment to sensory inclusion. Achieving the award is cost-effective and convenient through a four-stage assessment process. The incus team will support every stage of progression, undertaking tailored training modules and an audit process.

I have completed all my BSL courses through DSN. I am currently doing my Level 4. I have enjoyed all the courses I have completed and had much fun doing them!

DSN provides a relaxed and friendly learning environment. I have learnt a lot from my tutor and have gone on to use the skills and qualifications I have gained in to my career. I would recommend to anyone to complete their courses through DSN and their tutors.
