Deafness and Dementia Conference A Sign Of Success

by | June 20, 2019

A city conference focusing on dementia and deafness has been hailed as a ‘huge success’. Deafness Support Network (DSN) hosted its second major annual event at The Crowne Plaza, Chester last month which was attended by dozens of officials, stakeholders and business people from the city.

Dr Jenna Wallace, an expert in dementia, hosted two sessions about her research through the University of Manchester on behalf of DSN, unveiling her latest findings into the links between deafness and dementia.

Delegates also got the chance to learn essentials and emergency signs thanks to Lisa Birtles, Sign Language Tutor for DSN.

“The feedback on the day was fantastic and the support and interaction from delegates since have been enormously encouraging. As an organisation, we are going from strength to strength, thanks to winning new contracts in North Wales recently. We look forward to planning our next annual conference which we hope will be even bigger and better than the last.”
